Our Methodology

Working with Verilion means that you get to work with a partner that fully understands the medium of the Internet and how it can be used to market your products and services. We help our clients define their strategy, access new markets and build mindshare. We want the online public to not only hear your message, but interact with it.

We take our clients through every step of the strategic planning process, from conception to implementation. And we don’t just close the doors and hand them a finished plan at the end of the day.

We make certain that our clients are involved every step of the way, so that the strategy we come up with fits in with the client’s existing branding strategy.

Our approach to application development is a three step process: Design, Develop, and Deliver.

Design Phase

The first step in the process is design. According to most studies, nearly three quarters of all major software development initiatives never reach completion. All too often, this is simply due to a lack of sufficient planning -- the developers get a rough idea of what is to be done, and jump right in to the coding process. This always results in problems down the road, and far too often simply kills a project.

When you engage Verilion, we will take you through a comprehensive, disciplined design phase. Before a single line of code is written, we go through a storyboarding process, and build the project on paper. When everyone agrees that what has been designed on paper is what the client needs, then the actual coding process begins.

Development Phase

The actual development phase is relatively straightforward once design is done. Our develpment process is as disciplined and structured as the design phase. The entire process is well documented, and goes through extensive testing and verification every step of the way. The resulting application is documented, tested, and stable. This means that post-delivery support is as painless as possible, and future enhancements and modifications don’t begin with a developer new to the project scratching his head and wondering where to begin.

Delivery Phase

We don’t simply walk away from the project when it is complete. We monitor the application, look for bottlenecks, and ensure that everything is working as designed. In fact, the vast majority of our customer base elects to host their applications on our servers, and leave the management of the application to us. Even if the application lives elsewhere, however, we commit resources to ensuring that everything is working as expected before we consider the development effort complete.
